Want to know what the freight rate is in your area?

Now you can. Just go to the Load Board With Rates and select your state and equipment type. Super simple this Free Load Board is showing you all the truckloads with rates.  These could be both partial freight and full truck loads. We hope that all brokers and shippers see the value of putting rates on the loads.  If there is ever going to be any sort of tools like a freight auction or reverse auction or anything like Uber Freight.  Then people who want drivers to call them should put rates on loads on all the load boards.  Something simple that will save everyone some much time talking. Will technology replace the negotiation in trucking anytime soon?  Maybe.  But even if you post a rate expect the driver or dispatcher inquiring about your posted load to ask for more money.  They usually get it. Driver shortages and not enough trucks in the market place are raising rates and they are making drivers more aware of rates.  If you are a driver and want to quickly see what freight is going for in your area check out the Load Board With...

Truckers Should Take BitCoin As Payment

The new Cyber currency market is exploding and trucks should think about taking payments in Bit Coin (BTH) or some of the other formats. Super easy way to get paid and more and more people have the currency.  Overstock.com takes it.  Point Of sale systems will be at gas stations soon and the universal cyber currency will soon be everywhere. One of the easiest ways to get started into the world of BitCoins and other Cyber Currencies is to set up an account at Coinbase.com .  Super easy set up and once you are set up you can accept bitcoins.  You can buy them as well at ATMs. BitCoin is really like an alt currency where some of the other types of Alt Coins like Etherium(ETH) and Ripple (XRP) are basically transaction engines for fast payments.  These can be built into applications and transacted at fractions of percent.  The benefit is that as this gets more and more wide spread and it will for sure carriers should get ready to educate them selves on how to accept these alt coin currencies. In the future bank fees are almost gone.  One way to look at it is to pretend you want to send 10,000 from the US to Mexico.  It is almost easier to take the cash on a plane then to fill out all the forms and exchange money at different rates.  With these new ways of settling transactions.  Millions of dollars can be converted to digital currency and sent to the country and then converted into the currency of choosing or if they choose they can keep it in...

Billionaire Buffet buys 38% stake in Pilot Flying J

Read this one on Truckingnews.com – Read Original story here “Pilot Flying J is built on a longstanding tradition of excellence and an unrivaled commitment to serving North America’s drivers,” said Warren Buffett, chairman, president and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. “Jimmy Haslam and his team have created an industry leader and a key enabler of the nation’s economy. The company has a smart growth strategy in place and we look forward to a partnership that supports the trucking industry for years to come.” This is huge endorsement of Flying J and Berkshire Hathaway commitment to the transportation industry. So if Berkshire Hathaway aka Buffet thinks that truck stops are going to be doing well.  Then he must believe that Autonomous Driverless trucks are not really going to be a reality to mess with no truck stops.  My opinion and guess is that Pilot/Flying J is going to be able to meet the demands to help the transportation industry grow and change.  Maybe these places are going to start being able to have super charging stations for Tesla New electric trucks .  Basically transportation is not dead, we are not all going to work for Amazon and there is profit in supporting the industries that support trucking. Yay for trucking.  Anytime a market leader buys in it is good sign.  Also good sign for Pilot that they are over their little scandal.  I don’t even really remember what their weird price fixing discount strong arming issue was...

Free Load Board with Rates Is Going To Help Increase Trucking Rates

The free load board with rates by Trulos.com is going to help increase trucking rates and give drivers an easy and some way to participate in an online freight auction. The thought is that when a broker posts a load on a load board the need that load covered.  If brokers can easily see what freight selling for on the spot quote market they are able to price their loads accordingly. These are real loads in real time showing the goign rate for freight.  Drivers can keep watching the page that applies to them and pick up freight when the rate is right.  They know the price and the awkward question of “How much are you paying on this” is taken out. Once the rate is confirmed the only thing left to set up. Subscription based rate programs keep the cost of freight  low....

If more and more people post truckload rates the industry will become a lighting fast exchange of information.

If you don’t have to negotiate the rate then you really just have to exchange information and learn more about the details.  Imagine if brokers could put some notes in the comments to describe the freight. Then carriers would almost just accept it. What is needed to accept a load between a carrier and broker. The broker needs to have their carrier packet filled out TID info for payment record keeping Insurance Info Truckload carrier info What the trucking company needs: Rate sheet Pickup and delivery information.  Appointments, pick up and delivery expectations Copy of brokers bond info So the carrier can out together a few sheets of information and scan them or pint them as PDF.  The broker is able to have their documents in PDF form also and easily send them to the carrier. How to fill out a PDF carrier agreement: open PDF file Go to tools annotate and select text. this will create a little box where you can type in. You may have to edit the size of the text to fit the lines of the document where you are filling in you can drag the text where it needs to be.  it shows up in the middle of the page and is usually pretty big. Create a signature Tools/ Annotate / Signature/ Create Signature Insert signature on document Resize the signature to fit the space You can move the corners and sides of the box in and out to make the box bigger or smaller. So now once a freight broker posts a load with a rate the carrier could talk to them...

Subscription Based Rating Programs Keep The Cost Of Freight Low.

Subscription Based Rating Programs Keep The Cost Of Freight Low. They continually bring up old rates that may not be applicable to the current conditions.  Think about the hurricane situation we have had recently.  No one even knows what to charge. Everyone is rating truckloads today based on data that doesn’t exist in history.  The old data is providing a false history and artificially keeping truck rates low in todays current trucking climate. In comparison the live freight rates posted on the Free Load Board with Rates help raise the cost of freight. There is no data showing what things cost before only what freight costs are today.  If a freight broker or shipper wants to move a load on a truck they basically have to use the spot quote market.  Loads have to be covered and rates do go up. By using historical data the shippers will always be nostalgic about what they used to pay and will try and use those rates to show what the lane should cost.  It takes into account that some of this data is based on shippers with thousands of loads getting volume discounts from repeat carriers.  These rates just don’t apply to the rates today and especially past the the 2 natural disasters and all the FEMA Loads. If a trucking company is looking at thousands of loads and none of them have costs they have to call each one and get the rates.  The negotiation of it is so repetitive.  Constantly the only question is how much is the load paying.  The poster of the freight knows this info.  They...

Load Board With Rates

Load Board With Rates

The best load board just got a little more awesome.  Yep We really did it.  We separated all the truckloads with rates form the truckloads without rates and made it super easy to find freight with rates. Check out the Load Board With Rates Brokers posting freight on load boards should post the rates.  Simple idea, right.  Let the people looking for freight see the rate you are offering and call you if they like it.  Why does everyone not want to show the rate.  Do they think that by making the carrier call you to find the rate they can sweet talk them into it? Finding freight on load boards is a negotiation but this time consuming process of how much are you paying and I will do it for this is a complete waste of everyones’s time.  No matter how fun we think it is.  Think about how much faster things would get done if the everyone was upfront and there was a starting point for this conversation. Just because there is a low rate posted on the load board doesn’t mean that it will be sold for that freight rate.  It is the starting point for the conversation.  It allows the truck driver to see where the shippers head is.  If you see freight posted for 500 and you think the lane is worth 3000 it probably isn’t the right fit for that truck driver and freight poster.  But if the rate posted is $1,200 and the lane is worth $2,000 then there is a little room for some negotiation and both the owner operator and the...
